Search Fund Accelerator works with a select group of entrepreneurs to help them find and acquire excellent companies and manage them successfully as CEOs. Applicants to SFA's sixth cohort will begin searching in the summer of 2020.

SFA starts by selecting a cohort of highly talented entrepreneurs who have the skills, character and ability to be outstanding CEOs of small companies. We work together in a supportive, collaborative environment at SFA's offices in Boston and New Orleans. After completing an intense 3-week boot camp, SFA searchers quickly ramp up their search and focus on interacting with business owners.

While managing their own team and directing their own search, SFA searchers have unlimited mentoring and advising from SFA’s seven-member team, other SFA searchers and CEOs and SFA’s network of advisors. SFA searchers focus on working with potential sellers. Our team recruits and trains analysts and interns for them. We help our searchers grow and manage their pipeline and quickly evaluate targets. We also assist in preparing offers, designing capital structures, conducting due diligence, and working with sellers, lawyers, accountants and bankers to close the deal.

When our entrepreneurs are ready to acquire a business, SFA provides 100% of the equity from a fund of committed capital. As searchers and CEOs, SFA entrepreneurs benefit from working with a dedicated team that they know and trust. They also benefit from significantly improved economics and a structure that perfectly aligns SFA incentives with their own as CEO/owners.

Requirements

- SFA searchers are typically highly motivated MBA graduates.

- SFA accepts only solo searchers; no partnerships please.

- SFA only backs searchers conducting nationwide searches in the U.S.

- SFA requires searchers to have U.S. work authorization.
